Technical officer employment
The Technical Officer Development Scheme was established in late 2001 to ensure technical officers were recruited to the Transport Services Division to fill a skills shortage.
Eligibility
People recruited to the Scheme need to have completed the minimum qualification requirements. The salary range is $36,808 to $53,816 plus 9% superannuation. The certificate could be from any recognised discipline, such as diploma in spatial information systems, diploma or advanced diploma in civil engineering. Recruits enter by applying for the scheme directly to the department and are referred to locally as Qualified Technical Officers (QTOs).
