The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a critically important role in South Australia, delivering the State's infrastructure projects and operating and maintaining the State’s transport networks. The Public Affairs Division works across our enterprise managing all community consultation and engagement, stakeholder relations, customer engagement, media management and public communications, as we work to deliver outcomes for the benefit of our economy and our community.

The Director Media is responsible for all media, social media, public announcements and reporting arising out of the Department’s operations. You will have a depth of expertise in working with media and managing a variety of issues and matters of public interest, exceptional knowledge of contemporary social media platforms and a demonstrated ability of developing and implementing cohesive proactive communications programs and strategies.

The Department is looking for outstanding candidates who strive for best practice and exceptional outcomes in the work they do. Cultivating positive working relationships with key corporate stakeholders and community segments and driving workforce performance will be key to the achievements and outcomes of the role.

The Director Engagement is responsible for the oversight of all community engagement and stakeholder relations activities that support the planning and delivery of transport infrastructure across the portfolio. You will be highly self-motivated, have superior communication skills and have extensive experience in managing community engagement and consultation processes in linear infrastructure and/or project delivery.

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a critically important role in South Australia, delivering the State's infrastructure projects and operating and maintaining the State’s transport networks. The Public Affairs Division works across our enterprise managing all community consultation and engagement, stakeholder relations, customer engagement, media management and public communications, as we work to deliver outcomes for the benefit of our economy and our community.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, and leading a flexible and adaptable team, the Executive Director Public Affairs will drive effective empathetic engagement and consultation with the community and stakeholders as we go about building what matters for the State. You will oversee the development of our systems and processes that respond to the need for clear communication and the provision of information to customers, our community and government through all communication channels.

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals with a depth of experience in managing engagement and communications in a complex multi-faceted environment. Ideally you will have a depth of relevant experience gained on infrastructure programs at scale and have a work history that evidences working effectively in and with government to deliver better customer and community outcomes.  In your work you will display superior technical skills in the communications field, an ability to build collaborative relationships and influence positive outcomes, and a capacity to lead and manage specialised teams.
