Across Government Facilities Management Arrangements

The Across Government Facilities Management Arrangements, known as the AGFMA or the Arrangements, are an integral part of the South Australian Government’s commitment to the maintenance, management and improvement of government building assets that underpin essential community services.

The Arrangements enable the SA Government to:

• establish asset standards and maintenance requirements
• identify the scope and extent of work that needs to be done
• procure the performance of the works at a fair price
• ensure that the work is completed to the required standards
• periodically inspect and assess asset condition
• maintain the required public records
• appropriately manage risk and provide assurance across the asset management lifecycle.

For the benefit of:

• improved asset management
• improved risk management
• alignment of work practices to Work Health and Safety (WHS) statutory requirements, codes of practice, standards and policies
• active performance management of service providers through a key performance indicator (KPI) framework
• access to specialist technical expertise
• compliance with a range of legislation and standards
• a flexible program that allows the work to change from year to year
• continuous improvement for improved customer satisfaction
• reduced costs through economies of scale

Scope of the AGFMA

All government owned sites which are operated by a Participating Agency of the Arrangements are In-scope of the AGFMA, unless the site is operated by a private entity – in such an instance, an agreement designating responsibilities for site and asset maintenance must be in place.
