The existing Adelaide Aquatic Centre is now permanently closed
Thank you to everyone who provided their insights about the project along the way to help shape the design of the new facility and allow us to best plan the temporary arrangements for when the existing Adelaide Aquatic Centre closed, and before the new facility opens.

- Learn to Swim users: all Learn to Swim participants who submitted an Expression of Interest have been offered placements at alternative venues. If you are yet to arrange an alternative venue, we encourage you to get in touch directly with YMCA, the operators of the newly refurbished Thebarton Aquatic Centre to book into a new class.

The design approach has been centred around creating high quality spaces that use warm and natural tones to reflect the local landscape. There has also been a strong focus on ensuring the spaces are welcoming for all people of all abilities, cultures and ages.

New centre features
- 50m, 10-lane indoor pool for swimming carnivals, water sports and recreational use
- 25m, 8-lane outdoor pool
- Dedicated indoor warm water rehabilitation pool
- Dedicated indoor learn to swim pool
- Lagoon outdoor pool
- Entry level diving amenities which can also be used to perform a range of diving styles including bombing
- Indoor leisure water with splash zones and waterslides Spa, sauna and steam room
- Outdoor splash pad with waterplay
- Outdoor aquatic zone with BBQs and lawned areas
- Café available for both centre visitors and other Park 2 users
- Gym and fitness facilities three times the size than first planned
- Inclusive amenities and changerooms
- Improved car parking with access from Jeffcott Street
- Improved pedestrian and cycle pathways connecting the centre with existing networks.
