Riverbank Entertainment Precinct

Riverbank bridge at night time

The Riverbank Bridge was a major element of the State Government’s plan to reinvigorate the area along the River Torrens – and bring football to the city. The 255 metre long, eight metre wide pedestrian bridge linking the redeveloped Adelaide Oval with key Public Transport nodes and Adelaide’s CBD, creates a new centrepiece for a vibrant Riverbank Precinct and the city’s newest national and international landmark.

Current initiatives in the Entertainment Precinct within the Riverbank Precinct include the expansion of the Adelaide Convention Centre, a new pedestrian bridge and the redevelopment of Adelaide Oval into a modern world class multi sports stadium.

The investment in these key developments represent one of the city’s largest and most significant urban renewal initiatives. The opportunity now is to link the improvements and to activate the wider Precinct, making it a ‘go to’ destination with more visitors and local people spending more time at the Riverbank and its surrounding great park - experiencing more events, exhibitions, cafes, restaurants and entertainment.
