Wellington Road and Heysen Boulevard Roundabout

To help support urban growth in Mount Barker, the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) is delivering a new single-lane roundabout where the extension of Heysen Boulevard will meet Wellington Road.

This project is jointly funded by the South Australian Government under the Road Safety and Partner Funded Program and by residential and commercial developers.

The project includes:

  • construction of a new single lane roundabout;
  • concrete kerbs, kerb ramps, pedestrian/shared footpaths, median and refuge islands;
  • installation of new LED street lighting;
  • installation of guardrails and line marking;
  • undergrounding of services including stormwater, communications, gas, water, and electricity; and
  • vegetation management and tree removal.

Project timing

Major works commenced mid-September 2022 and were completed in March 2023.
