What's Happening:

The works include:

  • demolition of the two existing platforms;
  • installation of new platforms;
  • renewal of railway tracks to align with new platforms.
  • improved station amenities;
  • improved accessibility to the station ramps;
  • upgrade of the north and south pedestrian crossings; and
  • minor vegetation removal within the rail corridor.

When:

Late June 2024 until late October 2024

Ethelton Railway Station will be temporarily closed from 1 July 2024 until late October 2024 to accommodate these works.

Hours of operation:

Monday to Saturday

Day Works: 7am - 6pm

Night Works: 7pm - 7am

How this affects you:

Day and night works will occur, and some weekend works will also be required when trains are not operating on the network.

The pedestrian crossings at the south and north of the platforms will be upgraded as part of this work. We will maintain access to the pedestrian crossings where possible. We will have signage in place to show you where to go.

Some property access on Wirra Drive may be temporarily impacted during the works. If we need to impact your access, will let you know in advance.

There will be changes to traffic conditions to keep everyone safe. Please follow traffic management directions while works are in progress. Speed and lane restrictions will be required while works are underway.

Some noise disturbances can be expected at times while these works are completed, however, the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to nearby residents as much as practically possible.

Public Transport impacts:

Commuters are encouraged to use Glanville Railway Station during the closure. There will be no substitute bus services from Ethelton Station during the closure. Commuters who have accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact Adelaide Metro on 1300 311 108 to discuss alternative arrangements.

The works, when complete, will provide improved accessibility to the Ethelton station platform with regraded paths, ramps and wider platforms.

During these works there will be some impacts to the Outer Harbor train services. Please observe rail service signage and visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au for the latest information.
