View latest project update

What’s happening:

The construction of the new active pedestrian crossing is expected to be completed in late 2024 with testing and commissioning scheduled for mid-December.

To construct the new active pedestrian crossing we will be:

  • Building new pedestrian ramps and kerbing
  • Installing a new lighting system and handrails
  • Installing fencing around the pedestrian crossing

Once the new active pedestrian crossing is operational, we will remove the current pedestrian crossing.

When:

From Wednesday 7 August until December 2024

Hours of operation:

Day Works: 7am - 7pm

Night Works: 7pm - 7am

How this affects you:

A site compound will be established along Euston Terrace near Jane Street and we will have speed and lane restrictions will be in place near the works on Day and Euston Terraces.

The construction of the new active pedestrian crossing will occur during day and night works. To ensure safe working conditions for the team we will have temporary lighting towers in use along Day and Euston Terraces.

There will be changes to traffic and pedestrian conditions to keep everyone safe while works are underway. Please follow traffic management directions while works are in progress. Pedestrians and cyclists are asked to take care when travelling through the area.

Some noise disturbances can be expected at times while these works are completed, however, we will try to minimise disturbance as much as practically possible.

We will maintain access to properties and make every effort to minimise impacts to surrounding properties and road use.
