Beachport Jetty Upgrade Project

About the project

We have completed essential upgrade works on the Beachport Jetty, ensuring the long-term structural integrity of the jetty for all users. Works on the heritage-listed jetty were funded by the South Australian Government.

Upgrade works included:

  • refurbishment of timber piles, framework, and steel cross bracing;
  • installation of new safety ladders;
  • replacement of decking; and
  • repairs to the landings, handrails and fenders (jetty protective buffers).

Repairs to the Southend Jetty have also been undertaken as part of the project. Works included repairs to four lower landings and removal and replacement of two others, after they all sustained damage from several large swell events in 2021. The repairs to the four landings were completed in time for the fishing season which began in September 2022. The works to replace two lower landings were completed prior to the commencement of cray fishing season.

Major works on Beachport Jetty and Southend Jetty were completed in December 2023
