Project Background

The Adelaide Hills Productivity and Road Safety Package aims to upgrade some of the region’s key strategic arterial roads. The $150 million initiative, jointly funded by the Australian and South Australian governments (80:20), includes a range of road improvements to support economic growth, improve road safety and increase fire resilience in the Adelaide Hills area.

Kangarilla Road has been identified as a key arterial road in the Adelaide Hills that would benefit from safety upgrades. Planning and design are underway for potential upgrades and we are continuing investigation work to help guide this process.

Safety upgrades will align with the feedback and insights captured in our Adelaide Hills community engagement activities in late 2022, which identified road surface quality as the number one safety concern.
