Amy Gillett Bikeway Extension Project

About the project

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department), in conjunction with the Adelaide Hills Council, is currently undertaking investigations for the proposed extension of the Amy Gillett Bikeway from Mount Torrens to Birdwood (Stage 4).

The project proposes to extend the Amy Gillett Bikeway from its current end point in Mount Torrens at Oval Road, taking it through to the intersection with Onkaparinga Valley Road in Birdwood. This proposed extension will add approximately 6 kilometres to the overall length of the bikeway.

Investigation works along the proposed corridor were completed at the end of 2022. The Department is developing the preliminary design for the next stage of the Amy Gillett Bikeway and continues to work closely with the Adelaide Hills Council.

Community and stakeholder consultation will be important for the successful delivery of this project, and we look forward to engaging with you to discuss the project details, and receive your feedback in the future.
