Kings Road Pedestrian and Bicycle Upgrade Project
We will be delivering a bicycle and pedestrian actuated crossing (push button) across Kings Road that connects to a new shared use path adjacent to the Gawler railway corridor between Kings Road and York Terrace, Salisbury Downs.
This project aims to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists crossing Kings Road at the level crossing adjacent Thomas More College.
The upgrade will include:
- construction of a new bicycle and pedestrian actuated (push button) crossing on Kings Road – to provide a safer crossing for students accessing Thomas More College as well as other pedestrians and cyclists;
- construction of a new shared use path adjacent to the Gawler rail corridor between Kings Road and York Terrace – to provide improved connection for pedestrians and cyclists;
- removal of the existing signals from the pedestrian crossing located 140 metres west of the new crossing along Kings Road;
- installation of new safety fencing; and
- installation of lighting along the new shared use path.
