Happy and safe Easter
As we approach the long weekend, many of us will be taking some time to refresh after a busy start to the year.
It is important to remember that Easter is also one of the busiest times of the year on our roads.
If you plan to be on the road, remember the following:
- Don’t drive under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
- Stick to the speed limit
- Don’t use your phone
- Always wear a seatbelt
- Plan your journey to avoid fatigue
Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time as delays may be experienced due to roadworks.
The Department wishes all staff a safe and happy Easter. Remember to Think! Road Safety.
Digital First for LCAS
In late 2021, the Legal, Commercial and Assurance Services team decided to fully embrace Digital First and paperless workflow in preparation for the move to 83 Pirie Street.
Watch the video below to see how the team have easily adapted to Digital First.
Spotlight on public transport
Public transport has been a hot topic this week, with data showing people can save thousands of dollars a year by leaving the car at home and using a bus, train or tram instead.
A report on 9 News Adelaide did a great job of highlighting our message that public transport is a convenient and cost effective alternative to driving.
See how much you could save with the Public Transport Savings Estimator on the Adelaide Metro website.
COVID-19 mask update
The State Government has recently updated the COVID-19 mask mandate, with changes coming into effect from 12.01am on Friday, 15 April 2022.
Masks will no longer be required in most indoor public places, with the exception of high-risk settings such as public transport, taxis, ride share and healthcare locations.
This means that in most of our offices and work sites, masks will no longer be required, however many people may still wear a mask as a matter of personal choice.
Staff spotlight is on…
Richard Sheridan started with the Department in 2004 as a System Administrator in IT before moving to manage the Records Management team in 2005, where he stayed for 16 years - a role he says he had a great fondness of and where he worked with some terrific people.
For the past 12 months, Richard has been working as a Senior Project Officer for the Digital First team, where he has led training and delivered projects to improve awareness and processes across the Department to reduce our paper records and printing.
If you are looking for Richard on the weekend, you will likely find him out on the golf course, where he manages to fit in up to 80 rounds a year.
