Works have started to construct a new link road connecting Selgar Avenue to MAB circuit in Tonsely.
The $2.8 million project will provide a new point of entry and exit via a two-way road to the rapidly expanding Tonsley Innovation District.
Once finished, the new Selgar Avenue link road will allow vehicles to make a right turn onto South Road from Selgar Avenue via MAB Circuit and Tonsley Boulevard. It will also provide another entry point into the Tonsley area from South Road, in addition to the existing Tonsley Boulevard intersection.
The initiative is part of an $850 million package of essential network upgrades to support the effective functioning of Adelaide’s road network both during construction, and after completion, of the T2D Project.
Local South Australian business Bardavcol has been contracted to deliver the works, bringing significant civil construction expertise to the link road project. Bardavcol has previously worked on a wide range of local infrastructure projects, including the Flagstaff Road Upgrade, Main North Road and Nottage Terrace Intersection Upgrade, and Munno Para Railway Station.
Completion of the Selgar Avenue link road is expected by December 2023.
Information about works occurring is outlined in works notifications.
