Market Sounding Industry Briefing

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport has the pleasure of inviting interested industry participants to attend the launch of the North-South Corridor (NSC) market sounding process.

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) section is the final piece of South Australia’s world-class multi-billion dollar North-South Corridor, and the key to unlocking Adelaide’s traffic network, while delivering important economic, employment and safety benefits to the state.

Construction of this 10.5 km section of motorway will be the state’s largest infrastructure project to date and will deliver a 78 km non-stop, free-flowing connection between Gawler and Old Noarlunga, with links to the port and airport precincts.

Early market engagement is critical in ensuring a well-informed, attractive and competitive packaging and procurement strategy is developed to deliver the project.

The market sounding process marks the start of ongoing and collaborative dialogue with industry on this significant transport network and city shaping project. The market sounding process is intended to elicit valuable feedback, validate assumptions and leverage lessons learnt on a range of topics that will influence the recommended delivery strategy proposed to deliver the project. Topics that will be explored include:

  • delivery and contracting models;
  • appropriate scope and size / value of packaging solutions (including early works);
  • key project risks, interfaces and mitigation strategies;
  • proposed delivery timelines;
  • considerations that will help facilitate and drive efficient and attractive process(es); and
  • contracting market capacity, resource considerations and any other issues faced by domestic and international contractors.

As a backdrop to the market sounding process, the Industry Briefing will provide a briefing on the project, outline its scope, detail ongoing development activities, and outline the market sounding process. Pre-registration is essential.
