Night Works

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) is improving safety and efficiency along Golden Grove Road, between Park Lake Drive and Kunzea Way, as part of the $30 million South Australian Government funded Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project, Stage Two. The upgrade involves a number of road infrastructure improvements on this section of Golden Grove Road.

In order to minimise the impact to road users, asphalting works will be undertaken at night at Golden Grove Road, The Grove Way and Yatala Vale intersection. Night works will be carried out from Sunday, 19 September 2021, until early October 2021,weather permitting. Hours of work are between 7pm and 6am Sunday to Saturday.

Yatala Vale Road

In order to minimise the impact to road users, asphalting works will be undertaken at night on Yatala Vale Road, Surrey Downs near the Golden Grove Road intersection. Night woks will be carried out from Monday, 30 August 2021, until Saturday, 4 September 2021,weather permitting. Hours of work are between 7pm and 6am Monday to Saturday.

Bus Priority Treatments

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) is improving public transport travel along Golden Grove Road by adding Bus Priority Treatments at identified intersections, as part of the $30 million South Australian Government funded Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project, Stage Two. The project objective is to improve the public transport travel time, accessibility, reliability and safety for all road users. The North East Public Transport Study identified the need for improvements to O-Bahn bus services in the area and determined that intersection upgrades with dedicated bus ‘priority lanes’ at the following intersections along Golden Grove Road were the preferred option to reduce travel time for commuters. Bus Priority Treatments will be installed at the following intersections:

* Golden Grove Road/ The Grove Way/ Yatala Vale Road.

* Grenfell Road/ Golden Grove Road.

* Milne Road/ Golden Grove Road.

* North East Road/Modbury Avenue/ Golden Grove Road.

Works are scheduled to commence Monday, 9 August 2021, and be complete late 2021, weather permitting. Works will be undertaken Monday to Friday, between 7am and 5pm.

HIGHGROVE ROAD TEMPORARY CLOSURE - asphalt works, night works and detours

As part of the Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project - Stage Two, the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) advises that the section of Highgrove Road, at the junction with Golden Grove Road, will be closed from 9am Monday, 28 June, for approximately one week, weather permitting.

Activities: works will include earthworks, drainage crossing and asphalt works to complete the road connection from the junction of Golden Grove Road with Park Lake Drive.

Traffic management: access to Highgrove Road for motorists travelling northbound and southbound on Golden Grove Road will be via Park Lake Drive.

Asphalting works will also be undertaken at various locations along Golden Grove Road between Park Lake Drive and north of Highgrove Road commencing Wednesday, 30 June 2021, for approximately one week. In order to minimise traffic impacts and ensure the works can be completed safely and efficiently, these works will be undertaken at night.

PARK LAKE DRIVE CLOSURE - asphalt works and detours

As part of the Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project - Stage Two, the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) advises that the section of Park Lake Drive, at the junction with Golden Grove Road, will be closed from Monday, 12 April, for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

HANCOCK ROAD - asphalt works and detours

A section of Hancock Road, from approximately 200 metres north of Royal Admiral Place (and adjacent the Clay and Minerals quarry site) to Golden Grove Road will be closed from Monday 20 July, to Friday 24 July, weather permitting.

Work hours: Monday to Friday between 7am and 4:30pm.

Activities: earthworks and asphalt works to complete the road connections to the newly constructed roundabout at the junction of Golden Grove and Hancock roads.

Traffic management: access to Golden Grove Road for motorists travelling on Hancock Road will be maintained via the Yatala Vale Road detour. Access to Hancock Road for motorists travelling southbound on Golden Grove Road will be maintained via the Yatala Vale Road detour.

REMINDER: Night Works Recommencing

REMINDER: The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) advises that night works will recommence as part of Stage One of the Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project.

Works include the installation of underground drainage and lighting conduits at various locations along Golden Grove Road.

In order to minimise impacts to road users, these works will be undertaken at night between 6pm and 6am, Sunday to Thursday, commencing Monday, 8 June, with expected completion at the end of the month, weather permitting.

Golden Grove Road and Hancock Road will remain open to traffic with a 25km/h speed restriction in place while workers are on site, with lane closures and other speed restrictions subject to onsite conditions. Please follow the direction of traffic management and observe traffic signage and speed restrictions when travelling through the area.
