About the project

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport is upgrading the intersection of Grange Road, Holbrooks Road and East Avenue to relieve congestion and improve safety and connectivity for all road users at this location.

The $90 million project is part of the $850 million package of broader network upgrades, funded by the Australian and South Australian governments as part of the T2D Project.

Concept design

The concept design has been updated following community feedback in late 2023.

Project timing

Major construction is anticipated to commence in early 2025, with the intersection expected to open to traffic in late 2025.

Latest news

Since our last update, we’ve been preparing for major construction which will start in late January 2025.

Early works, including establishing our site compound at the corner of East Avenue and McLean Street, will start on Monday 13 January 2025.

Some night works are also anticipated during this time. We will let you know in advance of night works occurring.

Community engagement

Engagement with the community will continue to be an important part of the project during the planning and construction period.

Street corner meetings

In early 2025, we will hold local street corner meetings. This will be an opportunity to meet the team and ask any questions about the project, construction processes and local traffic management.
