Lincoln Highway Safety Upgrades

We are delivering critical road safety upgrades to The Lincoln Highway between Whyalla and Tumby Bay. These works are jointly funded by the Australian (50%) and South Australian (50%) governments as part of the $168 million National Road Safety Program over three years.

We are upgrading the Lincoln Highway between Tumby Bay and Whyalla to improve long term safety and efficiency for all road users. Works on these upgrades will commence from Monday 3 June 2024. Project Background

Extending approximately 219kms, the Lincoln Highway safety upgrade works will start in Lipson and progress towards Whyalla. The Lincoln Highway is a key transport corridor for farming, freight and tourist movements in and around the Eyre Peninsular and these upgrades will deliver improvements to freight movements, support regional economic growth and improve safety for all road users.
