Upper Yorke Road Safety Upgrades

The Australian and South Australian governments have committed to upgrade Upper Yorke Road between Kulpara and Arthurton and Port Broughton and Bute. These works are jointly funded by the Australian (50%) and South Australian (50%) governments as part of the $168 million Road Safety Program over three years.

We are upgrading the Upper Yorke Road between Kulpara and Arthurton and Port Broughton and Bute, to improve long term safety and efficiency for all road users. Project Background

Extending approximately 36kms, this section of Upper Yorke Road passes through the townships of Melton, Kainto and Sunnyvale.
Upper Yorke Road is a key transport corridor for farming, freight and tourist movements in and around the upper and mid Yorke Peninsula.

These upgrades will deliver improvements to freight movements, support regional economic growth and improved safety for all road users.
