Gorge Road Closure

During the winter months, Gorge Road can be subject to rocks falling onto the road.

To ensure the safety of road users, we monitor weather conditions throughout the year to determine if there is an increased risk of rock fall requiring the closure of Gorge Road.

The variable nature of weather conditions means Gorge Road is sometimes required to be closed at short notice.

Below map shows the area typically closed during a rock fall event. However, an assessment is undertaken during each event and the closure zone may differ from the depiction below.
