NOTICE TO MARINERS No 61 of 2023
South Australia – Murray Mouth – Dredging Works
Mariners are advised that from 03 July 2023 until 03 July 2026 dredging work will be undertaken at the River Murray mouth
Marine traffic through the area will be permitted during daylight hours around the dredges where safety is not compromised. Temporary closure of the channel may be required from time to time. A 4-knot speed restriction applies within the licensed area. Anchoring is not permitted within the licensed area.
Waters at the mouth of the River Murray delineated by the below coordinates:
- 35° 32' 56.4996"S 138° 52' 27.5404"E
- 35° 32' 51.9027"S 138° 52' 30.8702"E
- 35° 33' 30.3486"S 138° 53' 42.3499"E
- 35° 33' 38.4161"S 138° 53' 38.5369"E
- 35° 33' 25.8653"S 138° 52' 38.9453"E
- 35° 33' 22.6396"S 138° 52' 32.0234"E
An Aquatic Activity Licence has been issued to SA Water to restrict access by all personnel and aquatic craft to this vicinity of the River Murray mouth.
Buoys, either connected by a surface cable and rod, or individually anchored, will mark the extent of the exclusion zone around dredges and associated equipment.
Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area.
