      The Commission’s charter is to act in the best interests of all South Australians, promoting the principles outlined in the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 to encourage state-wide economic growth and support liveability.

      From time to time the State Planning Commission will initiate a Commission-led code amendment. These code amendments are generally significant in scope or location, and may propose state-wide changes to the Planning and Design Code.

      The Commission generally meets in Adelaide on the first and third Thursday of every month, although can meet more often if required. An indicative schedule of Commission meetings is in the calendar. The Commission’s meeting agenda is made available on this website from the Monday prior to the scheduled meeting and is available for download.

      Any functions previously performed by the DPAC are now the responsibility of the Commission, through appointing a Hearing Panel as necessary to deal with the matter.
