We are thrilled to announce that PlanSA, South Australia’s nation leading electronic planning system, has won the Innovation and Technology Award at SA’s Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) awards at Adelaide Oval.
The award recognises PlanSA as the only fully digital planning system in Australia, making South Australia the only State or Territory with a single comprehensive planning scheme that incorporates an online policy library, spatial mapping, online lodgement, and development application processing systems.
PlanSA provides the community and industry with a ‘one stop shop’, allowing South Australians to self-serve and access planning information and processes, whilst unlocking data and making more information available for timelier and evidence-based decision making.
It provides central access to information, through registers, mapping, and subscription services that allow customers to receive direct notifications about developments occurring in their local government area.
The platform also provides opportunities for South Australians to help shape their community and have their say on proposed changes to planning policies or development applications.
Continuous improvement of PlanSA and the ongoing development of new online tools are being driven through a collaborative and user centric approach that delivers enhancements proposed by its customers.
Within its first year of operation, the eplanning platform is producing enviable results that clearly demonstrates it is creating a better way for planning in South Australia.
Congratulations to Executive Director Sally Smith, Director Ameya Sawant and the team of talented IT and customer service professionals in the Planning and Land Use Services division of the Department for Trade and Investment.
