As the final step in introducing the National Construction Code 2022 energy efficiency and livability provisions in South Australia, the draft Ministerial Building Standard MBS 013 has been prepared, outlining how these provisions would apply to alterations, additions or repairs to existing homes.
MBS 013 follows on from MBS 007 which is currently being finalised following public consultation.
Details of the draft Ministerial Building Standard and how to provide feedback are available on the PlanSA Other consultations webpage. Consultation closes Thursday, 25 July.
Training is currently being organised to assist the sector to transition by the implementation date of 1 October 2024. Training is anticipated to commence in late August 2024, following the finalising of MBS 013.
Regular updates about the implementation of the modern homes provisions, including the consultation papers, will be provided on the PlanSA Building Code webpage and via the Building Standard e-newsletter.
