About this document
This practice direction sets out how to undertake and report on the Community Engagement required when preparing or amending a designated instrument. It includes:
- creating and carrying out the engagement plan to meet the principles and performance outcomes of the Charter
- preparing a summary and evaluation report for the Minister at the end of the engagement
- publishing an engagement report on the PlanSA portal under section 73(8) of the Act.
Designated instruments include:
- State Planning Policies
- Regional Plans
- the Planning and Design Code
- design standards.
The State Planning Commission issues practice directions to specify procedural requirements in connection the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.
