Due to satellite outage, our outback road signs are currently not automatically updating. Please use the QR codes on the road signs where possible. You can continue to refer to this page for the latest closures, restrictions and warnings.
Make sure you are viewing the latest information by hard refreshing this page. We issue a new road report whenever any road conditions change.
Before you set off or head back, check:
- the map for the latest on open, restricted and closed unsealed roads
- weather reports and forecasts for rainfall and flood warnings on Bureau of Meteorology.
The map has details about road conditions and the types of vehicles permitted to travel. Some roads may be restricted. However, additional access is provided in certain situations. See the notes for details.

Temporary closures, restrictions and warnings on outback roads in South Australia
As floodwaters from Queensland continue to flow into South Australia, some unsealed roads are now closed. This includes the Strzelecki Track. Learn about the closures and access.

Note: Maintenance and resheeting patrols operate at many locations across the unsealed road network. Speed and traffic restrictions apply at these work sites.
