Way2Go Signage

Way2Go signage reinforces the safe behaviour that children have learned from their parents and teachers e.g. Stop Look Listen Think signs at school pedestrian exits remind them to use the appropriate behaviour.

Once sign locations are determined by DIT technical staff in conjunction with local government traffic engineers they are approved by the Local Government authority. Installation is completed by a contractor or the local council. Signage is attached to existing fences or on free standing hoops. Positioning varies depending on the characteristics of the location.

Way2Go schools may be identified by some or all of the following signs:

  • School pedestrian entries / exits on fences, gates or posts as appropriate.
  • Pedestrian laneways adjacent to schools that exit onto roads
  • On free standing posts or barrier fencing (generally installed inside school grounds and not installed on hoop frames)

  • Prompts the use of learned safe behaviour
  • Reinforces road safety teaching of parents and teachers

Cross Here With Care Sign

CROSS HERE WITH CARE

Dimensions

300mm W x 400mm H

Installation

  • Located at most appropriate crossing locations based on compliant aligned ramps, good site lines, suitable speeds and no alternative formal crossings
  • Both sides of street at designated crossing points leading to entry to school grounds
  • Kerbside fences or in frames as deemed appropriate
  • Housed in hoop frames (see current fitment below)

Recommended Crossing Point Sign

RECOMMENDED CROSSING POINT

300mm W x 400mm H

Installation

  • Held in a hoop frame and can be installed on an appropriate existing structure e.g. kerbside fences
  • Only used when a formal crossing is available
  • Held in position no more than 50m from the crossing
  • Preferably located at a point of exit for the children or a less suitable crossing point
  • Can be used in conjunction with barrier fencing

Purpose

  • Prompts the use of learned safe behaviour
  • Provides a suggestion for an appropriate place for children to cross
