Short Term Low Impact Course
The Short Term Low Impact (STLI) course is for people who need to manage STLI worksites.
STLI worksites are short in nature and have low impact. In these situations, a site-specific risk assessment has determined that the work can be done without a Static Worksite.
The course covers situations where STLI works are undertaken:
- without the help of accredited traffic management personnel
- in line with simplified Traffic Guidance Schemes.
Course overview
Only approved training providers are accredited to deliver this course.

Determining the right traffic management measure
STLI worksites are suitable for quick and minor jobs. For example, pothole repairs or vegetation trimming.
A site risk assessment will determine if:
- an STLI worksite is appropriate
- a Static Worksite is needed.
Mobile STLI worksites may be appropriate along multiple sites. Visit Austroads to read about Mobile Works.
A Static Worksite with barriers may be more suitable if the worksite protects a major construction or deep excavation. Visit Austroads to read about Static Worksites.
