Notice to Mariners No. 65 of 2024 (Temporary)
SOUTH AUSTRALIA – WEST BEACH – DREDGING OPERATIONS
Mariners are advised that dredging operations have commenced from 27th October 2024 in the vicinity of the West Beach Boat Ramp.
Dredging operations are scheduled for up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are expected to be completed by December.
The discharge site will be marked with yellow surface buoys, FI Y 3s and is located between 850m to 1400m north of the West Beach Boat Ramp.
The discharge pipeline rests on the seabed during normal operations, however, the pipeline may be floated to facilitate dredge movements. In these instances, a SÉCURITÉ warning will be issued on VHF channel 16.
The dredge maintains a listening watch on VHF channel 16.
Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area.
