Walpaara Anpa Aboriginal Award for year 10 secondary students
The Walpaara Anpa Award encourages Year 10 Aboriginal secondary school students to continue their academic participation.
Award winners receive financial assistance towards a laptop up to the value of $1,500. If you think that this will help you to stay at school and finish years 11 and 12, we encourage you to read below and apply.
Eligibility criteria
To be able to apply for this award, you must:
- be an Aboriginal student completing year 10 in South Australia
- be enrolled to complete your SACE
- have regular school attendance
- have achieved satisfactory results throughout the school year
- complete the application process in full.
About the award
We offer up to 15 awards each year to Aboriginal students in year 10.
The award is financial assistance towards a laptop to help you to complete years 11 and 12. The voucher for financial assistance will be presented at an award ceremony to celebrate your success.
Please note- DIT does not take responsibility for the device and compatible accessories. Ongoing upgrades and computer support are not included.

Acknowledgment
Walpaara Anpa is Arabana for “clever one”.

The term “Aboriginal” is inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Selection panel
A selection panel will include three Aboriginal people. The panel will review all applications to make sure the assessment is balanced.
A referee of an applicant must not be a selection panel member.

You must also attach a current copy of your school report card.
