South Australian Boating Facility Advisory Committee
The South Australian Boating Facility Advisory Committee (SABFAC):
- advises the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport on:
- any changes to the facilities levies
- the application of the Marine Facilities Fund
- recommends expenditure of the fund to the Minister for consideration.
SABFAC typically meets four times a year in February, May, August and November.
Members of the committee
The committee is established under regulation 160 of the Harbors and Navigation Regulations 2023.
It has up to eight members appointed by the Minister for up to two years. Nominations are sought from the:
- Boating Industry Association of South Australia Incorporated
- South Australian Recreational Boating Council Incorporated
- South Australian Recreational Fishing Advisory Council Incorporated
- Local Government Association of South Australia.
The Minister also appoints:
- a presiding member
- a deputy presiding member
- two people with experience operating commercial vessels – at least one will have experience in the commercial fishing industry.
The Minister may also appoint deputy members.
