We do this by developing and implementing initiatives that support and strengthen:

• cultural identity
• the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal people and communities.

Support Aboriginal communities and build community capacity

We support Aboriginal engagement and build community capacity by:

• supporting Aboriginal communities through the delivery of improved infrastructure and services
• implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Employment Strategy that includes employment initiatives
• implementing the Department’s Reconciliation Action Plan
• implementing the Department's Closing the Gap targets.
