East Terrace/Grenfell Street intersection restrictions for night works
Thursday, 7 July 2022
Asphalt night works will be undertaken on the O-Bahn tunnel exit ramp, at the intersection of East Terrace and Grenfell Street, commencing Monday, 11 July.
To minimise the impact on road users, the works will be undertaken between 9pm and 7am each night, from 9pm Monday, 11 July to 7am Thursday, 14 July, weather permitting.
To safely facilitate these works, the following restrictions will be in place during the works:
- The traffic lights at the intersection of Grenfell Street and East Terrace will be turned off during the works with temporary traffic lights in place to control traffic at each approach to the intersection.
- All approaches to the intersection (from Grenfell Street and East Terrace northern and southern approaches) will be reduced to a single lane during the night works.
- Some on-street parking on East Terrace, between Rundle Road and Grenfell Street will be restricted, daytime inclusive.
Road users are asked to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and take extra care when workers are on site. Observe speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controllers when travelling through the area.
Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to take care when travelling through the area. For safety reasons the pedestrian crossing on the eastern side of the intersection of Grenfell Street and East Terrace will be closed during the works, daytime inclusive. Signage will be in place to direct pedestrians and cyclists to alternative access and/or detours.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times during these works.
All Adelaide Metro O-Bahn buses will be detoured between 9pm and 7am during the works via Hackney Road, Botanic Road, East Terrace and Grenfell Street but will continue to operate to the usual timetable and stops. The Department for Infrastructure and Transport appreciates the patience and understanding of road users while these important works are undertaken
