Outer Harbor and Grange rail lines to temporarily close for maintenance works

Wednesday, 31 May 2023

The Outer Harbor and Grange rail lines will temporarily close on two weekends in June to complete maintenance works.

Trains in both directions between Adelaide Railway Station and Outer Harbor and Grange Railway stations will not run from first service Sunday, 11 June to last service on the public holiday Monday, 12 June 2023. Services will resume from first service Tuesday, 13 June.

Services will also stop the following weekend from first service Saturday, 17 June to last service Sunday, 18 June 2023.  Services will resume from first service Monday, 19 June.

Substitute buses will operate during these times between Adelaide Railway Station and Outer Harbor and Grange Railway stations.

Trains will continue to run to normal timetables on the Seaford, Flinders, Gawler and Belair lines.

The temporary closures will allow works to progress that cannot be safely undertaken while trains are operating in the rail corridor.

The works have been specifically scheduled on weekends with no major events to minimise the impact to commuters.

While these works are undertaken, the Woodville Road level crossing at Woodville will also be temporarily closed to all road users to facilitate works within the dual carriageway. Signage will be in place to advise road users of detours.

Road users at Woodville Road will be required to use an alternative route via Kilkenny Road or Cheltenham Parade.

Adelaide Metro bus routes 100 Arndale to Glen Osmond Road and 300 Suburban Connector will detour via Cheltenham Parade. The Outer Harbor and Grange substitute buses will detour via Port Road.

The Department apologises for any inconvenience and thanks commuters for their patience while these works are undertaken.

Passengers are encouraged to visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au to check their timetable in real time and plan their trip with Adelaide Metro’s journey planner.
