Temporary partial closures on the Outer Harbor rail line
Tuesday, 12 March 2024
There will be a number of temporary partial night and weekend closures between the Woodville Railway Station and the Outer Harbor Railway Station later this month to allow construction works to continue for the Port Dock Railway Line Project.
The line will partially close between 9pm and last service each weekday from Monday, 18 March to Thursday, 21 March and again from first service Saturday, 23 March to last service Sunday, 24 March.
During the closures, works will continue on the $51 million Port Dock Railway Line Project including construction of new track, maintenance on the existing Outer Harbor rail line and signalling works. These works cannot be safely undertaken with trains operating in the rail corridor.
Outer Harbor train services will continue to operate between Adelaide Railway Station and Woodville Station and substitute buses will replace trains between Woodville Railway Station and the Outer Harbor Railway station, and will connect with arriving and departing services.
Grange line services will continue to operate as usual between the Adelaide Railway Station and the Grange Railway Station.
Construction is well underway on the Port Dock Railway Line Project, which will re-establish the one kilometre spur line into the heart of Port Adelaide. It will provide integrated rail and bus services for those who already call the area home and the many set to live, work and visit Port Adelaide in the future.
The project is expected to be complete by late 2024.

Adelaide Metro thanks commuters for their patience while these works are undertaken.
