About the project

The Fleurieu Connections Alliance is delivering stage 2 of the duplication of Main South Road. The alliance includes CPB Contractors, Aurecon and GHD, with Sub-Alliance partners McMahon Services Australia and Tonkin, in association with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.

This project will:

  • result in safer and faster journeys for motorists
  • be a boost for local tourism, communities
  • create hundreds of jobs each year during construction.

We’re on track for project completion in early 2026.

What's happening

Over the last few months we’ve achieved a series of key milestones on the project. These include:

  • switching traffic onto the new northbound carriageway
  • opening the new Aldinga Bridge.

In the coming months, we’ll work towards:

  • opening the southbound ramps to traffic
  • completing the connection works at Aldinga
  • finalising key utility relocations and upgrades.
