We are constructing a new roundabout at the intersection of Heaslip Road and Curtis Road, Angle Vale.

About the project
The new roundabout will improve safety and congestion at the intersection and support the rapidly expanding nearby residential developments, improving access and road safety.
This project is partly funded through the Australian Government’s $1 billion Priority Works Stream under the Housing Support Program.
What's happening
The upgrade includes:
- construction of a new dual lane roundabout
- new shared use path and footbridge
- new line marking
- new and upgraded drainage infrastructure
- new and upgraded LED lighting
- new landscaping

Timeline
Early works
SA Water's important infrastructure upgrade works underway. Main construction expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
Vegetation management
We understand that trees are highly valued by the community. The project has been carefully designed to minimise vegetation impacts as much as possible however removal of some trees and vegetation will be needed.
As part of the detailed design process ecological assessments and surveys were undertaken to inform the design, aiming to avoid and minimise vegetation impacts as much as possible. This also involved advice from an independent arborist.
As part of the project, new landscaping will be planted within the project area.
In collaboration with the City of Playford we are developing a landscaping plan for the project. More information will be available following commencement of major construction.
Community engagement
Thank you to all community members who attended the information session in November 2025. Your feedback and input helped us better understand broader community needs and priorities for the road safety upgrade.
