About the project

We are delivering a new Bicycle and Pedestrian Actuated (push button) Crossing (BPAC) on Kings Road and a new Shared Use Path between Kings Road and York Terrace, adjacent to the Gawler railway corridor in Salisbury Downs.

These projects will improve safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists on Kings Road in Salisbury Downs.

What's happening

To minimise impacts to the community, works will be undertaken in two stages.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Actuated (push button) Crossing

Works on the new BPAC commenced in October 2025. The new signals were activated on Wednesday 18 March 2026.

The old crossing located approximately 160 metres west of the railway crossing will now be permanently removed.

Shared Use Path

Works on the new Shared Use Path are expected to commence in early 2027 with advance notice provided.

Design for the new Shared Use Path is currently underway.
