Kings Road Pedestrian and Bicycle Upgrade Project
About the project
We are delivering safety and connectivity improvements for pedestrians and cyclists on Kings Road in Salisbury Downs.
This project includes a new Bicycle and Pedestrian Actuated (push button) Crossing (BPAC) on Kings Road and a new Shared Use Path between Kings Road and York Terrace, adjacent to the Gawler railway corridor in Salisbury Downs.
What's happening
To minimise impacts to the community, works have been undertaken in two stages.
Stage 1 - Bicycle and Pedestrian Actuated (push button) Crossing
Works on the new BPAC commenced in October 2025. The new signals were activated on Wednesday 18 March 2026. The old crossing located approximately 160 metres west of the railway crossing was permanently removed in April 2026.
Stage 2 - Shared Use Path
Works on the new Shared Use Path between Kings Road and York Terrace, are expected to commence in early 2027 with advance notice provided.
