About the project
Lobethal Road has been identified as a key arterial road in the Adelaide Hills that will benefit from safety upgrades.
Upgrades will be delivered in two stages:
Ashton to Lenswood - Commencing Monday 12 October 2026 to late 2027
Lenswood to Lobethal - expected to be completed by mid 2028
What's happening
Stage 1: Ashton to Lenswood Commencing Monday 12 October 2026
The planned treatments include:
- New road surface
- New safety barriers
- Road widening
- New signage
- Culvert extension for better drainage
Completed works
Lobethal Road between Norton Summit and Ashton was completed in 2023.
Works included:
- new road surface to improve skid resistance
- improved sealed shoulders
- widening of side roads and access aprons to reduce drag out of loose debris
- new pavement marking
