About the project

Lobethal Road has been identified as a key arterial road in the Adelaide Hills that will benefit from safety upgrades.

Safety upgrades will align with the feedback and insights captured in our Adelaide Hills community engagement activities in late 2022.

What's happening

Early works are underway for safety upgrades between Ashton and Lenswood.

Completed works

Lobethal Road between Norton Summit and Ashton was identified as a location for early safety upgrades as part of the Adelaide Hills Productivity and Road Safety (AHPRS) package.   These upgrades were completed in 2023 and were in line with the feedback and insights captured in our Adelaide Hills community engagement activities undertaken in late 2022, which identified road surface quality as the number one safety concern.

Works included:

new road surface to improve skid resistance

improved sealed shoulders

widening of side roads and access aprons to reduce drag out of loose debris

new pavement marking.
