Port Lincoln Intersection Safety Upgrade Project

Port Lincoln Intersection Safety Upgrade Project

Upgraded four key Lincoln Highway intersections, including Flinders Highway and Light St, Hallet Place and Liverpool Street, and Mortlock Terrace and Bligh Street.

About the project

We are undertaking improvements to the Eyre Peninsula road network. The program aims to deliver improvements to freight movements, road safety, amenity, connectivity and support regional economic growth.  These works are funded by the Australian and South Australian governments.

What's happening

Works were completed in mid 2024.

These improvements included upgrading four key intersections along Lincoln Highway through central Port Lincoln with modifications to support freight and vehicle movements, improved pedestrian facilities, road resurfacing, new line marking, pavement rehabilitation and improvements to road lighting, kerb gutters and medians.

We are progressing with planning works for the upgrade of the Porter Street, Liverpool Street and Railway place intersection. The $4.5 million upgrade is jointly funded by the Australian (80%) and South Australian (20%) governments. More information is available at Porter Street, Liverpool Street and Railway Place Intersection Upgrade.
