About the project

As committed in late 2023, we have upgraded these junctions to improve safety and access for all users:

• Mount Barker Road with River Road
• Strathalbyn Road with River Road.

Minor improvements were also made at the junctions of River Road with Kangaroo Reef, Sawmill Gully and Fairview roads.

Our designs have been developed to deliver improved safety outcomes while also minimising the impacts on local businesses and residents.

What's happening

The main construction work for the project started in July 2025 and was completed in late 2025, however some minor finishing works may continue until early 2026.

The works included:

• road widening
• targeted road resurfacing
• drainage
• lighting upgrade
• line marking
• signage installation.
