About the project

Works on RM Williams Way between Jamestown and Spalding are now complete.

This project formed part of the $168 million National Road Safety Program, jointly funded by the Australian (50%) and South Australian (50%) governments.

Completed works on RM Williams Way between Jamestown and Spalding included:

  • Shoulder widening
  • Shoulder sealing
  • Pavement rehabilitation
  • Safety barrier installation

Over the coming months we will be undertaking Audio Tactile Line Marking (ATLM) installation across completed projects. ATLM is used to reduce rural ‘run-off-road’ road crashes by providing a noise (audio) and vibratory (tactile) warning to road users.

Project background

This section of the highway accommodates an average daily traffic flow of 650 vehicles, including 21% heavy vehicles, and these upgrades will help deliver improvements to freight movements and support regional economic growth.
