About the project
We are undertaking remediation works on the Southend Jetty Lower Landings to improve the jetty’s structural integrity and lifespan.
These works are being undertaken as part of the South Australian Marine Asset Sustainment fund. The fund is designed to ensure ongoing access to jetties, which provide significant economic, social, and environmental benefits for communities.
What's happening
We are undertaking remediation works on the Southend Jetty. Works will include the remediation of the lower landings one, two and three. Works will include installation of new structural piles, cross brace brackets and decking to facilitate vessels berthing and mooring.
To safely undertake these critical works the Southend Jetty will temporarily close to all users including over the Easter weekend and April school holidays.
Works will be undertaken outside the main Southern Rock Lobster commercial fishing season to minimise impacts to the industry and avoid the unpredictable winter weather.
