We're making it safer and more convenient for pedestrians and cyclists to cross Springbank Road, Colonel Light Gardens and Panorama.

Improved access for vehicles turning onto Springbank Road.
Smoother and safer travel for cyclists.
Safer and more convenient pedestrian access.

About the project

We have installed a Pedestrian Actuated (push button) Crossing (PAC) on Springbank Road, between Daniels Road and Eliza Place in Colonel Light Gardens and Panorama.

This project included:

  • installation of new traffic lights, with countdown crossing timers

  • new pedestrian ramps

  • new line marking to facilitate safe crossings for pedestrians and cyclists

  • audible push buttons

  • retention of eastbound right turn lane onto Eliza Place

Project background

In 2022, we undertook a traffic safety and access review of Springbank Road as part of the South Australian Government's commitment.

An additional signalised pedestrian actuated (push button) crossing was proposed on Springbank Road, between Eliza Place and Daniels Road in response to feedback received and technical data from the traffic safety and access review.
