Tarlee Road Safety Upgrades

Tarlee Road Safety Upgrades

These upgrades are funded as part of the Australian Government’s 2024-25 Black Spot Program which directly targets high risk roads for safety improvements.

Improving road safety

About the project

We are delivering safety upgrades on Tarlee Road, between Hogan Road and Oaklodge Road at Kapunda.

Works commenced on 18 March 2026, with completion expected in June 2026.

What's happening

Works will include:

  • Safety barrier installation
  • Shoulder sealing
  • Audio Tactile Line Marking (ATLM)
  • Vegetation management.

ATLM is used to reduce rural ‘run-off-road’ crashes by providing a noise (audio) and vibratory (tactile) warning to road users.

Vegetation Management

To undertake critical safety upgrades on Tarlee Road some vegetation removal is required.

Throughout the planning and design process every effort has been made to minimise vegetation impacts, however, some removals are necessary.

For more information, please see our vegetation management fact sheet.
