West Beach Boat Ramp Access Bridge
About the project
These works are funded by the South Australian Government as part of the Bridge Maintenance Program.
The works will improve the amenity of the bridge and ensure long-term protection of the steelwork and increase the life span of the bridge.
What's happening
Maintenance works are required to repair deteriorated areas of the boat ramp access bridge from Barcoo Road, West Beach. Activities will include:
- structural repairs to the steelwork
- upgrades to the handrails and traffic barriers
- removal of the existing paint
- application of new lead-free paint.
Access to the boat ramp will be maintained at all times during works.
Maintenance activities will be undertaken in two stages to avoid the busy summer holidays with no works undertaken on the bridge between mid-December 2026 and Tuesday 26 January 2027.
Work is expected to be complete in April 2027, weather permitting.
