Belair Road retaining wall upgrades
About the project
We are undertaking essential maintenance works along Belair Road, below the Windy Point Lookout, Lynton. The maintenance works are required to preserve the long-term structural integrity of this section of Belair Road. The type of maintenance works will vary based on a range of factors including the condition of the existing retaining walls, heritage considerations of some of the existing walls, land stability and landslide risk.
Project timing
These works are planned to start in late January 2025, after the Australia Day long weekend and will take approximately six months to complete, weather permitting.
Prior to this early works to establish a site compound at the Windy Point Lookout carpark will commence in early January 2025.
The Windy Point Lookout carpark will be closed to the public after the Tour Down Under from Monday, 23 January 2025, for the duration of the maintenance works.
Emergency access
Emergency services access will be maintained at all times.
In the event of a catastrophic fire day, there will be no works scheduled on Belair Road. The road will be open under traffic management to maintain a safe evacuation route (city bound only) and two-way access for emergency vehicles.
Public transport
Temporary bus stop closures and detours on Belair Road will be required during these maintenance works.
Further public transport information will be available before we start the main works via the Adelaide metro website, please visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au
