City of Burnside
In June 2019, City of Burnside and Adelaide Hills Council submitted a proposal (Stage 1) to the Commission for support for an administrative boundary change.

27 October 2025 – Inquiry and Engagement
At its meeting on 16 September 2025, the Commission determined that the Inquiry into the City of Burnside/Adelaide Hills Council - McBeath Drive - Administrative Council Boundary Change Proposal may proceed. The Inquiry will be undertaken in accordance with section 30 of the Local Government Act 1999 and the relevant Commission Guidelines.
At its meeting on 16 September 2025, the Commission also approved the Engagement Plan and Inquiry Plan.
The Engagement Plan provides details of the engagement and consultation activities to be undertaken in accordance with Commission Guideline 9 – Engagement and Consultation and Guideline 2 – Administrative Proposals.
The engagement has been tailored to suit the minor nature of the proposal. The period of community consultation is being held from 29 October 2025 to 26 November 2025.
Additionally, the Inquiry Plan details the five areas of inquiry that will be investigated:
- Financial Matters
- Land Use and Planning Matters
- Employee Matters
- Representation Matters
- Community and Service Matters
