Free public transport for New Year’s Eve

Whether you’re kicking back at a mate’s place or celebrating in the city, free travel and plenty of extra services is your ticket to a great night.
Free travel on all bus, train and tram services will be available from 5pm on New Year’s Eve until 6am on 1 January 2026.
With additional services running, South Australians are being encouraged to plan ahead and leave the car at home.
With the Glenelg tram line closed between South Terrace and Moseley Square for major works as part of the Tram Grade Separation Projects, additional substitute bus services will be available across the night.
Trams are operating as normal between South Terrace and Royal Adelaide Hospital, and between Botanic Gardens and the Entertainment Centre
Cricket fans travelling to the Adelaide Strikers BBL match will be able to access free travel from 3pm with their ticket.
