Improving regional public transport trip planning
Wednesday 3 June 2026
Those planning public transport journeys in regional South Australia will now be able to do so with greater confidence through improvements being delivered by the State Government.
Regional public transport information has been uploaded to the Adelaide Metro website, with regional bus routes now available online.
This will allow passengers to better plan their journeys within and between regional communities through not only the Adelaide Metro website, but also third-party apps like Google Maps.
These now display scheduled regional bus routes, ferry service, and connections to metropolitan public transport.
Around 150 bus routes and 1,500 bus stops have been mapped out on the website, including consistent route numbers and stop names to help passengers easily identify which service they need to catch.
Regional timetables, fare details and service alerts will continue to be managed by individual operators through their own systems and will not be available via the website.
This launch will provide an opportunity to test the journey planning tool and for regional communities to provide feedback about the service information available.
It builds on the existing Regional Services page, which summarises regional services, real-time tracking deployed by our regional transport operators and an interactive regional map that can be accessed on the Adelaide Metro website.
In addition to this, findings in the Regional Public Transport Review will also inform the Public Transport Strategy which will be released later this year, helping to create a public transport network to meet the needs of South Australia for the next 30 years.
